WHAT TO EXPECT

We understand that visiting a new church can be an intimidating experience. However, our desire is that the Victory experience is relaxing and encouraging. It is our common beliefs in almighty God, His only Son Jesus Christ, and the infallible Word of God that bring us all together as a community.

None of us "have it all together"

That’s probably why we make such a close family – we are all sorts of “limping through life” and growing in grace. We are not evaluating others – when they walk in, we are glad to see them! Do not worry about having to “measure up” or “fit in.” None of us really measure up, and we are all very different. Our family is very diverse, so fitting in is not an issue.

We speak plain English.

We worship Jesus. We believe and study the Bible. We encourage each other. And we do it all in terms anyone can understand and be able to connect to their everyday life. We believe and teach what the Bible actually says and why it matters. There is no pointless tradition, no archaic languages, no “droning” irrelevant lectures, and no pious arrogance. We open the Bible and apply it to real life in this century – and it makes a BIG difference!

A lot of us are new.

Much of our church family are new in recent months. We are all getting to now each other and finding our place in this growing body of loving Christian friends. We are just regular, friendly people. Like everyone else, we are working hard, fighting for healthy relationships, and looking for encouragement. We are glad to have good friends who share our faith in Jesus Christ.

Whether or not you have a church background, you will feel welcome…

Every week, new guests visit for the first time. Many of them would not call themselves Christians or even “religious.” Many of them are burnt out on both religion and secularism. Religion tells us to “be good enough” to please God; that is a hopeless endeavor. Secularism tells us “There is no God, so life itself is meaningless and hopeless.” But Jesus presents the only hopeful answer!
